As the Heights begins kicking into gear for the 2014, we would like to take the Cards for Community program to the next level. While the previous cards that have gone out have focused on the issues that you have seen in the community, the newest Card you will (or have already) recieved is all about getting involved and doing something. While there are several projects in the works, the first one we would like to kick off is the Blight Squad!
If you would like to help mow lawns, board houses, or plant flowers, join the Blight Squad!
You will get orange cards in the mail inviting you to participate. You can drop the cards in the Cards for Community boxes located at the Given Garden (Given and Holmes), Leawood Baptist Church (Macon and Homer), and Streets Ministries (1304 N. Gra-ham).
You can also call Daryl McKinney at (201)540-9752 for more information or to get involved. Training will begin in February, and projects will begin in March.
Here are the results from the last few rounds of Cards that went out!
